Theatre Duty Technician

Wyllyotts is a busy 420 seat multi-purpose community venue. We are looking to recruit a Duty Technician, ideally with a professional lighting bias to assist with our programme of private hires, one night performances, corporate events, amateur hires and annual pantomime.

Responsibilities include;

  • Assisting with the get-ins/outs for touring shows.
  • Collaborating with set building, rigging and flying as needed.
  • Programming and/or operation of sound, lighting and video using professional equipment for a variety of performance styles.
  • Serving, after appropriate training, as Duty Technician/Fire Marshal for live events.
  • Assisting with maintenance of technical and building equipment and openness to a culture of inter-departmental support.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous technical experience in a live entertainment venue and an understanding of the basic operation of professional sound and lighting equipment.
  • Good working knowledge of industry specific Health and Safety regulations and risk assessment and management

Wyllyotts will invest in further training for the right candidate. This post primarily consists of evening and weekend work and so the ideal candidate would need to have a flexible approach to working patterns. Working hours are also averaged over a month with time off in lieu given for any hours over the monthly average and overtime paid for pantomime.
